Let me tell you how good this book is... I would give this a 10 star !! I already read The Gateway Trilogy book 1 & went onto this book, I was at work, my boss had to leave, I was done with my work but I had a 1:00 Web Conference meeting with my peers. I decided to wile away the time by reading this book, next thing I know my co workers messages me as to how I thought the Web Conference went. Startled because I was suppose to be on that call I looked over at my clock and it was 2:30 !! I MISSED THE MEETING !!!! That was how immersed I was in the story, I was not even aware of the time. I totally freaked out because I was suppose to report back to my boss when he came back on the subject of the Conference call and I missed it because I was reading this book. I have never --ever--don't this before. The two sisters and the ghosts, and going to the school totally disarmed me. I love the story and the characters and I have already purchased book 3
I'm am absolutely in love with this series. I want to cry, yell, and throw things because book three is not out yet! If you loved the first book like I did, you will seriously die in this sequel. I didn't think I could love the second more than I did the first, but I did! I am sitting here amazed that I may have just found one of, if not my most favorite paranormal series ever! You will be doing yourself a favor by starting this one right now. I cannot wait for book three because this ending has me dying!Ah! So many feels!
The series was well written. You liked/disliked the characters and at times were confused on who was the bad guy. The only thing I wished was to dive into Hannah's past a little more. Maybe a prequel to the series. You know the father but what was going on with her mother. I can see one more book focusing on the past. Good job.
This book was not very well written, there were lots of grammatical errors (much like in this review) and repetition of certain things I could tell that this was something the author was new at. These are the reasons I didn't give it 5 stars.That being said the story itself was very original and very captivating. There are books that you just can't finish because of all the stuff wrong with them, but even with all the little loose ends in this book the story still had the power to hold me as a reader. I couldn't put it down. The second book Spirit Prophecy was written better that the first and I would highly recommend both of them.I can't wait for the 3rd book and more from this author who has a brilliant talent for storytelling. Great job EE!!! Can't wait for your next book
when jess and Hannah first arrived at Fairhaven I was thinking that this place is awesome. but there is always bad apples in the bunch. when the silent child all but attacked jess I was super surprised. I still can't figure out Finn but I am excited to see what is his problem. I have to say that I suspected that Hannah and Jessica's father was one of the protectors and I believe that Carrick knows who. I am still not sure if the silent child can be fully trusted and I can't wait to see what happens next.
I truly hope and am anticipating a follow-up of this trilogy!! I couldn't wait to get all my daily chores done to spend my evening reading this and all of the books of the trilogy!! E.E. Holmes has to be the best author that I have read in ages!! I am 80 years old and have always been an avid reader, please let me know before I get much older what happens to Jess, Hannah and Milo!!
I completely devoured this book in just a couple of evenings, even missing new fall shows on TV and didnt care! I wish someone would go through it again and fix all the mistakes, there are a lot of them. However, the writing was fantastic and I highly recommend. Off to go start book 3!
You know exactly when you've hit the end of the story and realize, "Oh crap! The next book isn't out yet!!!" Well, I'm there and now eagerly await the next installment of the completely mesmerizing trilogy. While I would normally wait till ALL the books have been released, before starting a series like this, I AM happy I have read the first two books and Milo's story. I now find myself in the unfortunate position of The Eagerly Awaiting Game!Excellent! Must read!
